The sixtieth session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW60) will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 14 to 24 March 2016.Representatives of Member States, UN entities, and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs), included Soroptimist International Great Britain & Ireland (SIGBI) will attend the session.See the brochure for CSW60.Themes:Priority theme: Women's empowerment and its link to sustainable development.Review theme: The elimination and prevention of all forms of violence against women and girls (agreed conclusions from the fifty-seventh session).Soroptimists at CSW60:This year we have 13 Soroptimists travelling to New York for CSW60. The organisation Soroptimist International of Calcutta conducts monthly meeting every month for the planning and execution of its objectives. In the monthly meeting various types of issues are being raised to strengthen the activities of the ngo.
